Is that normal?!
I also discovered one more awesome link up that I'm going to do today :) In this post I'll be linking up with Allyce at Chalk in the Rain and letting you know what I think is normal and what isn't!
1. Is it normal to Google yourself? Sometimes! I am guilty of googling myself once or twice but usually just to see if my privacy settings are working on my social networking sites. If you're googling yourself everyday this might be a problem...
2. Is it normal to pretend you're stuck in traffic as an excuse for being late? NO - this just seems lazy to me. I'm such punctual person and I really don't think traffic is a very good excuse for being late in the first place. If you live in city that often has a lot of traffic you should always plan it into your trips (I know I do).
3. Is it normal to tell someone they have bad breath? Is it normal? Depends (I would say it to my brother). Is it polite? Definitely not. I would suggest something a little more nonchalant, taking out a piece of gum for yourself and offering them one too.
4. Is it normal to have worn the same undies 2 days in a row without washing them? Haha ew, no that's not normal and nor should it be a normal occurrence for anyone.
5. Is it normal to put baby powder in your hair to de-grease? Finally a yes! I prefer to use dry shampoo but yes, everyone has those day when their hair is looking a little greasy and they need a pick me up. Plus, it's not healthy to shampoo and condition your hair everyday (even though I'm guilty of it!)
6. Is it normal to have accidentally sent a nasty text/email to the person the text/email was about? This has never happened to me and I don't think it should be normal. Yeah it happens sometimes but it should never be a normal occurrence for people. If it is, you should probs check yourself before you wreck yourself...
7. Is it normal to have lied to your doctor? I think this is normal to an extent, I can see people lying about their weight, alcohol consumption, and things like that. I personally don't but I do lie to my dentist about flossing...oops!
8. Is it normal to go an entire week eating cereal for dinner? Any college student will say yes, this is normal! My freshman year in the dorms, I absolutely HATED the dining hall's food so I would often have no choice but to eat cereal or salad for dinner every night...so glad that's over!
9. Is it normal to pull clothes out of the dirty laundry to wear? Haha I regret saying this but yes this is a normal thing for me. Let me explain...when I'm getting ready for the day/night and I try on a lot of outfits, anything I don't wear usually ends up in my hamper. Not because it's dirty but I'm too lazy to hang it back up in my closet. It's a horrible habit, I know!
10. Is it normal to re-gift a wedding gift? Hmm...it depends who's it's from, what it is, and who you're re-gifting it to. I'm not a huge fan of re-gifting though so I'm going to go with not normal on this one.
This was a fun link up! Let me know what you think about "Is that normal?!"

2 truths and a lie
So I just stumbled upon this link up and I love it! This is one of the few (pretty much only) ice breaker activity that isn't totally awful. Here it goes...
1. I've been pulled over for speeding twice but never given a ticket
2. I was voted "most likely to be a trophy wife" by my sorority
3. I've been surfing in Hawaii

Texas forever
As most of you know, I was more than devastated when I found out my favorite TV show this year, GCB, was cancelled by ABC. It was hilarious, sweet, and had an all-star cast. However, I found a glimmer of hope when I saw a preview for the new TNT series, Dallas. It's more of a drama than GCB, it's about the oil and ranching business in Texas but it has some serious eye candy. The original Dallas show was a soap opera aired in 1978 and was made popular by it's story lines of wealth, sex, and power. The new show sounds just as juicy as the old one, here's a preview if you want to check it out!
My all time favorite TV show, Friday Night Lights, was also set in Texas - those who have seen the show will understand this blog post title :) I guess there's something about the Lone Star state that mades for good television shows! I'm hoping I'll like Dallas as much as I loved GCB and Friday Night Lights.
Is anyone else excited for the premiere of Dallas?

Graduation day
Today my younger brother, Ben, graduated from high school! He'll be attending Sacramento City Community College for the next two years to pursue a (hopefully) bright future in baseball. I've already made him promise to hook me up with a MLB hottie if he makes it to the pros haha :) I can't believe he's heading off to college and I'm already half way done with it...scary stuff. It was a great afternoon though, the ceremony was only about an hour and a half so that wasn't too bad. Luckily, it was gorgeous outside too so we got to take some nice family photos.
Ben and I
He's actually a lot taller than me (8 inches to be exact) - I'm never past his shoulders but I wore heels today :)
The empty nesters and their college kids
Wise words from Disney - love my family more than anything
Happy Sunday :)

My favorite hobby
Happy Saturday lovebugs! Hope you all are enjoying your weekend, I spent the entire day yesterday at the Mall of America so I definitely am :) As I've mentioned previously, I'm quite the shop-a-holic. I take after my mother in this aspect and we often shop at a lot of the same stores. I like to think that I have pretty good taste in clothing, which can sometimes be considered both a blessing and a curse (it gets so expensive!) but I've gotten pretty good at finding deals at all my favorite stores. I tend to prefer quality over quantity when it comes to shopping. I've found that classic, well made clothes not only last a lot longer but they stay in style and I don't get sick of them after 2 months.
I was pretty successful in my mall trip yesterday, I got some great pieces and I think I stayed under $200! I managed to find everything I bought online so I get to show them off to y'all :) here's what I got...
Red Sateen Crops from Banana Republic. I've been lusting over these pants for months now but we've never had my size in our store. I have a love/hate relationship with Banana's pants. Normally, I wear a size 0 but their pants are just huge on me, I have no idea why. Size 0 is usually the smallest size my store carries so I always freak out when we have 00's in because those have a much better chance of fitting me. The same thing is true with petits, I can usually wear petit crops and capris where the length doesn't matter as much. Anyway, the gods of shopping must have been smiling on me yesterday because I found these amazing crops on sale in a size 00P for $35.99! Seriously such a good deal and they fit perfect! Add my 10% discount to that and they ended up being around $32.
Hot Pink Cotton-Stitch Sweater from J. Crew. The color is brighter and more neon in person and I absolutely love it. It'll be perfect for summer nights with white jeans! It has kind of the crocheted, knitted look which I'm so obsessed with right now. It reminds me of a top I got from Gap recently too, which is the second picture. I actually have the top in white but you can see the nice details a lot better in this color.
Neon Orange Scoop Neck T and White Denim Shorts from Gap. I've been finding so many things I love at Gap recently which is really nice because I get 50% off everything full price there from working at Banana! I buy all of my basics at Gap, they seriously have the softest tee's. Not to mention, their entire store is full of neon clothes right now so I'm all over that!
Reflection Top from Ann Taylor. The Mall of America recently opened a new Ann Taylor store and I've got to say, I was pretty impressed. The set up actually looks a little bit more like The Loft, they're breaking the store up by casual, dressy, and work clothes. The variety is definitely something Ann Taylor needed and I think they're trying to appeal to a younger generation now as well. This top is adorable, I love putting a little bit of sparkle in my wardrobe!
Vibrant Fringe Necklace from Forever 21. I'm not the most fond of shopping at Forever 21 mainly because the clothes aren't that high of quality and it's so messy, I don't like having to dig through racks of clothes. I do have a couple cute things from there and I know a lot of people that like the store I just don't think it's worth the time you have to put into it to find something cute. On the other hand, I do love their accessories. I buy a lot of my headbands there and I'm trying to grow my jewelry collection - you can't beat their prices. I found this necklace for $6.80!
And that's everything I bought this weekend! Let me know what you think!
