She's country

I don't know what's gotten into me lately but I'm OBSESSED with cowboy boots! Do I own a pair? No. Did I order a pair online last night? You bet :) Maybe it's because of my recent decision to move to Nashville...see previous blog post! I'm praying that they fit! I often have troubles boot shopping because I have pretty thin legs and not super small feet (I wear size 7.5 or 8) so most of the time boots don't fit tightly around my legs, it's so frustrating. More likely than not, I'll only wear the boots a couple times a year since they're really not the most popular up here but I'm still super excited! Plus, my best friend's sister is getting married next summer and her and her bridal party are all going to wear cowboy boots with their dresses, so cute! Obviously I want to match them and go with the theme haha. Here's a couple pictures that are leaving me anxiously awaiting for my pair to come in the mail!

An accurate picture of what my legs look like haha I'm hoping my boots look as cute on as this gal's!

Loveee

Another summer wish list item - denim top! Cute casual outfit

Presh!

Any cowboy boot lovers out there? If so, what's your favorite pair and what brand are they?! - For future reference :)

Putting on my big girl panties

Today, I took one step closer in figuring out exactly what I want to do with my life, yay! I decided it was time to give up the dream that I would get my MRS degree and be some lucky man's trophy wife...I know, sad day. Anyhoo, I've always wanted to go to law school but I was never quite sure what kind of law I eventually wanted to practice. At first I was thinking Family Law, I totally saw myself doing divorces and saying "we're gonna sue that son-of-a-bitch for everything he's got" to heartbroken gals. In reality, it's a lot more complicated, messy, and less glamourous than that. But after talking to numerous lawyers, I think I found my calling in the law world...Entertainment Law. Now some of you may ask, what in the hell is that? Well...it's pretty much how it sounds. Entertainment Law focuses on providing legal services to the entertainment industry, whether that be film, music, television, etc. It's right up my alley. There's something about the entertainment industry that I'm just drawn to, and yes I know it's not all glamour there's a lot more that goes into it behind the scenes. I don't know, it's just so intriguing to me and it's always been that way. Going into this type of law would mean I would have to move to a big media city (L.A., New York, NASHVILLE!) Just thinking about it makes me giddy inside!

And this brings me to my next dilemma. My major is Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance with a minor in Management (the only Business minor non-Business schoolers are allowed to have). I'm not so worried about my major, it's a little too late to change that anyway but I'm wondering if I should I change my minor to something with media? Or is business applicable to everything? I'm not sure, I guess it'll be something to talk to my counselor about but I swear, sometimes my guess is as good as theirs...At least I have a little more direction in life at the moment! It's always a good feeling :)

Already decided this is my future home in Nashville - how cute! (I concern myself sometimes...)

Also, I'd die and go to heaven if I were Luke Bryan's lawyer...I imagine our conversations would go something like this.

Anyone else slowly but surely figuring out their plans for the future?! I'd love to hear the schools y'all attend and your majors too :)

Sunday Social

Hey loves! Sorry I've been M.I.A this whole weekend but I've been working soo much. Not exactly how I thought my summer would be (fun in the sun and loads of free time) but I think I'll definitely appreciate the extra cash this fall once I'm back at school. I discovered a great new link up for Sundays (I know, I'm sorry, I do so many of them!) but this one asks six questions and I've been wanting to blog more about my life so y'all can get to know me better so I figured this was a good start :) Go ahead and link up with Ashley at Ashley's Carnival Ride and Neely at A Complete Waste of Makeup! Also, just found out for every week of Sunday Social link up, the girls are giving away a $20 gift card to Starbucks - I'm sold! Here it goes...

1. How did you come up with your blog name? I love this question because my blog name is something I've been thinking about a lot lately. The name just kind of came to me the one random Saturday night I was staying and decided, hey I'm going to start a blog. Srat and sratty for anyone that doesn't know are adjectives for anything that are typical of a sorority girl. So I went off that and of course, one of my favorite shows, Sex and the City, to create Srat in the City. This leads me to my next point, do y'all like the name Srat in the City? I've been thinking about changing my blog name lately and now I think I have a strong enough following to ask your opinions! I don't want to turn anyone away from my blog because they're not in a sorority, I blog about so many different things, most aren't even Greek related. I just thought the name was kind of cute and different than any I've seen before. I don't know, I feel stuck. Other name options I thought of are "Pre-law Prepster," "Living the Lilly Life," and "Positively Preppy." Too generic? Again, I have no idea haha so please please please give me some feedback! I'm not very creative with names so I would openly take suggestions too, haha! I always love hearing from followers/anyone who reads this, I'd really appreciate it you'd help me out with this dilemma I've having :)

2. What is your favorite thing about blogging? I absolutely love everyone that I've come in contact with through blogging. I seriously get so excited whenever someone leaves a nice comment or starts following me (haha I'm such a dork). It's such a great feeling to know that people actually care/like what I'm saying and agree with me! I would also say I'm a teensy bit obsessed with the South haha and I love that I can get a little taste of that from reading all my favorite Southern blogs :) so thanks to all my Southern ladies for that. Hopefully I'll be down there for law school in a couple years!

3. What is one thing you've discovered because of blogging and now can't live without? This one's easy. Like I said before, I love reading blogs about the South and those blogs are how I got introduced to Jack Rogers! I had never heard of them before reading those blogs but with all the rave reviews, I figured they had to be something special. This spring while shopping at Off Saks Fifth Avenue, I instantly recognized a whole display of Jack Rogers and bought my very first pair :) Needless to say, I'm obsessed!

4. Facebook or Twitter? And why? Another easy one, definitely Twitter! Facebook gets old sometimes, I'm sorry to say that I don't care about most people's statuses. "Going to the gym" "I'm bored, hmu" and "It's raining today" aren't the most interesting things to read everyday. Twitter however, let's me follow hilarious anonymous accounts like Bad Luck BrianCondescending WonkaSingle Girl Problems. Seriously though, check them out!

5. If one celeb read your blog, who would you want it to be? Hmm...this one's tricky. Probably Leighton Meester because Blair Waldorf is my idol. I also mention GG a lot on the blog so that would be pretty cool :)

6. What is something you want people to know about your blog? I want people to know that everything I'm writing is totally me. I'm not making anything up so I can get people to follow me. This is exactly who I am and I'm just excited to meet other people who have the same interests as me! I also always want people to know how much each comment and follow means to me. When I created this blog about a month ago I had no idea if I would even get any followers! I'm beyond thrilled to already have 22 lovely followers and I can't wait to continue to develop my blog and keep meeting some great people.

This was a great link up and I'm excited that y'all are getting to know me a little better each and every blog post! Again, feedback on my blog name would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks lovebugs :)

It's Ok Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

Happy Thursday lovebugs! I'm very happy to announce that I will be doing my first "It's Ok" Thursday with Brunch with Amber and A Complete Waste of Make-Up! I absolutely love the idea behind this link up because sometimes you just need sometime to tell you what you're doing or feeling is ok!

It's ok...

To wait 10 minutes in the Starbucks drive through for a latte!

To drink before 5 in the summertime

To be in love with fictional characters (Chuck Bass, Edward Cullen, Gale from The Hunger Games...I'm embarrassing)

To listen to One Direction on repeat

To eat dessert first :)

To spoil yourself sometimes - yes, go ahead and buy the shoes!

To take naps whenever you have the time

To attend sporting events only to check out the hot guys (the reason I love baseball and baseball pants)

To spend more time on Blogger than you should

To have road rage when you're in a hurry and everyone's taking their sweet time

To be overly excited when you have more than 20 followers - YAY! Love you all :)

That's all I have for today! Let me know what you think!

Is that normal?!

I also discovered one more awesome link up that I'm going to do today :) In this post I'll be linking up with Allyce at Chalk in the Rain and letting you know what I think is normal and what isn't!

1. Is it normal to Google yourself? Sometimes! I am guilty of googling myself once or twice but usually just to see if my privacy settings are working on my social networking sites. If you're googling yourself everyday this might be a problem...

2. Is it normal to pretend you're stuck in traffic as an excuse for being late? NO - this just seems lazy to me. I'm such punctual person and I really don't think traffic is a very good excuse for being late in the first place. If you live in city that often has a lot of traffic you should always plan it into your trips (I know I do).

3. Is it normal to tell someone they have bad breath? Is it normal? Depends (I would say it to my brother). Is it polite? Definitely not. I would suggest something a little more nonchalant, taking out a piece of gum for yourself and offering them one too.

4. Is it normal to have worn the same undies 2 days in a row without washing them? Haha ew, no that's not normal and nor should it be a normal occurrence for anyone.

5. Is it normal to put baby powder in your hair to de-grease? Finally a yes! I prefer to use dry shampoo but yes, everyone has those day when their hair is looking a little greasy and they need a pick me up. Plus, it's not healthy to shampoo and condition your hair everyday (even though I'm guilty of it!)

6. Is it normal to have accidentally sent a nasty text/email to the person the text/email was about? This has never happened to me and I don't think it should be normal. Yeah it happens sometimes but it should never be a normal occurrence for people. If it is, you should probs check yourself before you wreck yourself...

7. Is it normal to have lied to your doctor? I think this is normal to an extent, I can see people lying about their weight, alcohol consumption, and things like that. I personally don't but I do lie to my dentist about flossing...oops!

8. Is it normal to go an entire week eating cereal for dinner? Any college student will say yes, this is normal! My freshman year in the dorms, I absolutely HATED the dining hall's food so I would often have no choice but to eat cereal or salad for dinner every night...so glad that's over!

9. Is it normal to pull clothes out of the dirty laundry to wear? Haha I regret saying this but yes this is a normal thing for me. Let me explain...when I'm getting ready for the day/night and I try on a lot of outfits, anything I don't wear usually ends up in my hamper. Not because it's dirty but I'm too lazy to hang it back up in my closet. It's a horrible habit, I know!

10. Is it normal to re-gift a wedding gift? Hmm...it depends who's it's from, what it is, and who you're re-gifting it to. I'm not a huge fan of re-gifting though so I'm going to go with not normal on this one.

This was a fun link up! Let me know what you think about "Is that normal?!"

2 truths and a lie

So I just stumbled upon this link up and I love it! This is one of the few (pretty much only) ice breaker activity that isn't totally awful. Here it goes...

1. I've been pulled over for speeding twice but never given a ticket
2. I was voted "most likely to be a trophy wife" by my sorority
3. I've been surfing in Hawaii

Can you guess which one I'm lying about? :) and go ahead and link up with Alana and Mallory
